In the Middle of Everything: Midwestern Indie Presses

Housing Works hosts small press authors with ties the middle west. Independent, Chicago-based published Curbside Splendor is sponsoring the event along with Vol 1 Brooklyn. The readers all have ties to the midwest, and will be reading selections that talk about it as a place.

Jason Diamond founded Vol 1 Brooklyn, is an Associate Editor at Men’s Journal, and formerly was the Literary Editor at Flavorwire.

D. Foy launched his debut novel, Made to Break back in March. Check out the English Kills Review writeup of his reading at McNally Jackson Books.

Dmitry Samarov is a painter and writer in Chicago.

Megan Stielstra is a Chicago based writer and author of the essay collection Once I Was Cool. Her work is included in The Best American Essays 2013, Poets & Writers, The Rumpus, PANK, and elsewhere.

Erika T Wurth has a forthcoming noel, Crazy Horse’s Girlfriend. Her work has appeared in numerous journals, including Boulevard, Fiction, Pembroke, Florida Review, Stand, Cimarron Review, The Cape Rock, Southern California Review, and Drunken Boat.
